the guys at ssa are working on a 100 rd c-mag for the we-gbb.
Iam guessing that an ak drum would not be hard.

I wouldn't imagine it being hard at all. Just rig it up like a normal drum mag would be with some extra plumming for a gas tank and your set.

Got my AK yesterday. I'm a little disappointed with the build material. All internal parts are at best cast zinc. Little disappointed there. BUt DAMN if it isn't loud. 134 wasn't doing too badly, but not stellar performance either. MOre to come later....

Well what can you expect for a gun selling for $350 in some places right? I'd like to know if the sound is anything like my Daytonagun AK, which is really really loud.

True. This drop in kit, along with the fact that I already own a VFC AKS74U, might get me into wanting a gas primary.

    Only time will tell, though.

In that case if you already have the base gun I'd say go for it. From what I've heard replacement parts aren't hard to get and I'm sure there'll be aftermarket stuff coming out soon enough.

    more info:

-.2s & green. . top chrono was 392 fps and avg was 368 fps..easily will hit 400 fps w/ tightbore

-recoil and metal clacking is music to the ears. . .more recoil & louder than an Escort MP5A5 (louder than an SD)

-EASILY will empty 50 rnds on auto before cooldown takes into effect.

-uses AEG barrels. . and hop up buckings (I've heard but not verified it)

-piston/nozzle design is similiar to WA Magna system for pistols but w/o intricately designed nozzle. . I believe it will be fairly simple to mod and improve!

-the blowback unit is made up 6 parts: nozzle, nozzle pin, piston, piston head, ball bearing (acts similiar to a floating valve internally), ball bearing spring.. .

    NEAR FUTURE MODS:

    1) install longer tightbore so I can use my PBS 1 & 4
    2) machining a 6061 piston (might play with different bores which provide better gas flow through the nozzle)
    3) machining a 6061 nozzle (might play with venturi design)
    4) machining a Delrin nozzle (in the instance this provides a better seal into the hop up chamber)
    5) machining an oversized O-ring piston head (this, like on WA gbb pistols, should really boost the FPS)
    6) polish the cylinder and maybe even bore it to match the oversized O-ring piston head
    7) play with different recoil springs

    FUTURE FUTURE MODS:
    1) play around with a different gas-in-mag tank configuration. . gotta have a GBB Bizon!!!!

The GHK AK GBB kit should be on sale really soon. . for about $300 (at Evike). . probably be cheaper to by the already built gun at $400. ..at least for an AKS74U. . GHK AK74M is $550.

Evike said he'll be having alot of support for the GHK guns. ..spare/replacement parts, reinforced parts.

it's based on the ver1 of the DBoys AKS74U. . invest into the ALL steel ver2 Dboys and you're set. . GHK used the ver1 because it was overall a cheaper solution (at the time, prior to the all steel release)

were you able to empty the mag (w/ no cooldown) with 134A? you can easily empty 50+ w/ green and no cooldown

Not sure how we wound up with two topics on this, but they're merged now.

Why am I even up at 10:20? I've got work tomorrow.

PS: I'm glad to see someone else hates that ugly red paint crap on those handguards. I thought it was just me.
